Carnal or Spiritual

Romans 12:2 Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

At the point of salvation when we believed, the seed of the Holy Spirit is planted inside of us. The growth of that seed depends on you the new believer. What you focus on will depend on whether you will continue as a carnal Christian or move forward into maturity as a spiritual Christian. The less we conform or follow the ways of the world and the more we are renewed in knowledge of Gods truth the more we will be able to know and understand what God’s will is for our lives. According to Andrew Murray it’s pretty simple to know which one you are. “The Christian who walks in the spirit, and has crucified the flesh, is spiritual (Galatians 5:24). The Christian who walks after the flesh, and wishes to please the flesh, is carnal (Romans 13:14).” Here is an easy tip to know whether you are carnal or spiritual. I quote Andrew Murray, “One of the signs of this is that there is little pleasure or perseverance in fellowship with Christ through prayer. Love of prayer is one of the marks of the spirit.”
