Jesus is the great I AM therefore His promises His blessings His love is always NOW !!! Since He is eternal not limited to time or space when He promises something to you it is in the now, the present.
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:”. Ephesians 1:3 KJV
“Blessed us in heavenly places”
Blessed is past tense. This is the Greek word eulogeō which is in aorist tense meaning it has already happened. Everything that He has to offer us within His word IS already ours for the taking. All we have to do is to accept the truth believe the truth and live the truth. If you read further in Ephesians Paul tells us more.
“The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.” Ephesians 1:18-23 KJV
May the eyes of your understanding be enlightened toward this great truth that Paul is trying to teach us. That the Lord God set him (Jesus) at his own right hand in heavenly places. “Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church.” This vastly important truth that we must realize that as Jesus is far above everything, so are we because of our relationship to Christ through faith. His power is our power His blessings is our blessings because of our relationship to him and because of His grace toward us. Also take note in verse 21 “not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:” This power over all of our enemies is in the NOW (in this world) as well as that which is to come ….everlasting life in the eternal. Read further for our connection to Christ who is our link to having the victory over all things.
“And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:” Ephesians 2:6 KJV
Because Jesus who died on the cross for us and rose again the third day is in heaven interceding for us. Therefore He (Jesus) has raised us up together and made us sit together in heavenly places. Through what He (Jesus) has done for us in our behalf in Christ through faith in him we have all power and dominion over the enemy of our souls. What we have to do as believers is to fully realize this truth, embrace this truth and live this truth in all the fullness of him who has freely given us all things.
“In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.” Ephesians 1:13-14 KJV
We are sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, which IS OUR earnest of our inheritance. The word Earnest in the Greek means deposit or down payment, a guarantee of our inheritance not only in the NOW but also throughout eternity.
We are blessed in heavenly places you just need to realize it. Ask the Holy Spirit to enlighten your understanding to this great truth.
