My Wounded spirit found healing at the foot of the cross. When I threw myself Helplessly at his feet crying out I need help. I need a change. My life sucks and I need an overhaul, I need a total and complete transformation. So right now I give my life to you, forgive me of all my sins “create me a clean heart, O God and renew a right spirit within me” Psalms 51:10 ESV. I struggled in my faith that God would actually forgive a person like me. Then I opened up my Bible and read, “For there is no respect of persons with God.” (Romans 2:11 KJV) In another version it says God shows no partiality. So I ruminated this over in my mind that it doesn’t matter how bad I’ve been or how much wrong I committed or how evil I was, God would forgive me regardless of who I was and what I had done up to this point in my life.
I discovered in reading God’s word that he loved me unconditionally. Unconditionally? Does this word really exist? Can someone actually love me unconditionally? Then it is written in his word, “It is he who remembered us in our low estate, for his steadfast love endures forever;” (Psalm 136:23 ESV) I discovered that God does love unconditionally. That his love and grace is unconditional towards any man or woman that comes to him in faith In believing that he will do what his word says he will do.
“The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor; he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound;” (Isaiah 61:1 ESV). Sin controls a person and keeps them captive to that sin to that desire and only God can break that chain of sin. Resist the devil for a week in regard to that sin and God will set you free from that sin.
A wounded person or the brokenhearted is controlled by the pain of the one who inflicted it. As long as a person holds onto that pain is being held captive and in prison by the one who inflicted upon him. The Scripture says rightly in (Mark 11:25 ESV) “And whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father also who is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.” For when we forgive that other person for inflicting that pain upon us we actually free ourselves and we become at liberty from Satan’s hold upon us! “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.” (Ephesians 6:12 ESV) So really we are not fighting against mom or dad, brother or sister, aunt and uncle, or Grandpa and grandma, nor against friends, neighbors or strangers. We are Fighting against the one that influences them the most. So if they are not influenced by God through his word, Therefore you can conclude that they’re being influenced by some other force, an evil force. Forgiving others for what they have done to us sets us free from the control of Satan’s influence. We become a captive that is set free. Yes, every time the thought comes to your mind of what they’ve done, we have to forgive them over and over again in order to continually be set free from them.
I am a man that has been wounded over and over and over, But now because of Jesus Christ and his word I am set free from my wounds, I am a whole person!!!
If I can be set free from my wounded spirit God can set you free as well. So my dear friends throw yourself at the feet of Jesus and ask him to heal you, forgive you and make you whole again. The healing that God brings your way will not be instantaneously. It is a gradual healing. Stay faithful to God in reading his word and praying to him daily and you’ll find peace, joy, and abundant life like you’ve never experienced before!!!
